A Ring, a Dress, and a Morning with Lisa & Richard

A week or so ago, I received an email from a dear friend of ours Henry Chen and he put us in touch with Lisa. Within 5 minutes of talking with her I knew this was going to be an event I wanted to capture! In celebration of their six year dating anniversary, Lisa and Richard decided they wanted to have a small civil ceremony in Laguna Niguel and a big reception and celebration with family and friends coming up in the future! With it being only days until their wedding day, I jumped at the chance to document such an intimate and blessed occasion. It was such an honor to be one of only seven people in attendance, listening as both Lisa and Richard pledged their life and their love to one another, through the thick and thin, for better and for worse. It so clearly reminded me that when it all comes down to it, a wedding is truly just two people and their love…the rest is just details.

Following their nuptials and hugs from family, we all headed down to The Montage Resort in Laguna beach to get some photos of Lisa and Richard together (you may remember it from the last time I was there) . I LOVED Lisa’s BCBG dress (as did everyone who passed us at the courthouse and the beach!), and we really had such a wonderful afternoon enjoying the sand and surf. And yes…once again, I got nailed by a wave, haha.

I think it’s the first time in the history of our blog, but I wanted to end the post with a family portrait commemorating the joining together of these two families, and the witnesses to the beginning of Lisa and Richard as husband and wife.
