Malibu Wedding Photography: Karissa and Brandon at Calamigos Ranch

Posted in: Weddings

Erin and I have been looking forward to Brandon and Karissa’s wedding for quite a while! They found us and were recommended through Emily and Mike’s Wedding in Simi Valley…the third wedding we’ve ever shot, and we are always honored by referrals; it truly is the best compliment our photography can ever receive!

Coming all the way from Arizona, Calamigos Ranch was a destination wedding for these two and it truly was just a relaxed, fun, and incredibly romantic wedding. Married beneath a tree dripping with colorful lights and a setting sun glowing behind them, Brandon and Karissa pledged their love to one another before their closest family and friends.

Place Karissa within arms length of Brandon and you will see his face light up at even the slightest glimpse of her smile. And believe me, when she is around him…smiles are not in short supply! Tucked in the hills of Malibu, Calamigos Ranch was perfect for these two and Erin and I were so honored to have been among the select few to witness the start of their lives together as husband and wife! You won’t find a more sincere and genuine couple out there and we are proud to share with you some of our favorite images from their incredible day.

Thank you Brandon and Karissa! We are beyond excited for you both and hope you had the most amazing honeymoon in Hawaii!

And now…the romance :)

    what lens did you use for GJW_004 \ _0011 ?you gotta share some secrets man! I wish to learn more from you,Eitan,Israel.

    • Gavin says:

      Hey Eitan!

      Here are the lenses we used for this wedding:

      * Karissa getting ready – Nikon 24-70mm f2.8
      * Brandon, Brandon with his guys, and Karissa walking down the aisle – Nikon 70-200mm f2.8
      * Wide angle ceremony shot of the trees during the ceremony – Nikon 14-24mm f2.8
      * Ceremony kiss and sepia photos of Brandon and Karissa – Nikon 50mm f1.4 (shot at f2.0)

      I hope that helps! Half the challenge is knowing what lenses to use throughout the day, that’s for sure. There’s no hard and fast rule, but we like to give a lot of different angles on the day.
