Cypress Wedding Photography: Allison and Jacob, Happily Ever After

People ask us all the time…

“So seriously, you’ve been to so many weddings, don’t they all just look the same after a while? There’s a dress, there’s a cake, and there’s dancing…right? Do you get numb to it all?”

Honestly, my first thought after hearing this is ‘holy cow how cynical are you?’ haha. And my second thought is…’you just miss it, all of it. But I can’t blame you.’

Yes, there is a dress. But there is also a bride, a story, and lifetime of dreaming, planning and joyful anticipation leading up to every moment.

Yes, there is a cake. But there is also a piece that is saved and savored after a couple’s first year as husband and wife. Memories come rushing back, (hopefully they bust out some photos) and they reflect on the new journey they have taken together.

And yes, there is dancing. But if you look closer, it’s a father’s final moments holding his daughter close before she leaves a lifetime of his protection. And at the end of the night, it’s a man and a woman madly in love, sharing one last kiss surrounded by their loved ones before they go out and begin their lives together.

I had to share this, because with Allison and Jacob’s wedding, we witnessed each of these moments firsthand and knew there would never be a wedding like theirs. It’s moments such as these that will forever distinguish every amazing couple from one another.

Jake, taking a moment to pause and reflect before marrying the love of his life. Allison turning to walk down the aisle and feeling her father’s grasp getting tight as he fights back tears for his little girl. And Alli and Jake sharing a quiet moment before heading in to the Eagle’s Nest and celebrate with their dearest friends.

These are the moments we are privileged to capture and see through our lens; how can one ever tire of such an honor?

Allison and Jake, your day was simply amazing. Not only for the moments you see below, but for all of the moments in between where your love for one another was undeniable. We are so happy for you both and hope you are enjoying your last day in St. Lucia!
